Kirkland

C2C - Route 71

Route Section: Start Point > Keswick

From Start: 16km (10m) | From Finish: 211km (132m)

About Kirkland

Welcome to one of the most unspoilt areas in the Lakes. Ennerdale Lake is a couple of miles from Kirkland and is scenic and dramatic, surrounded by conifers and steep mountains. There is a public footpath around the lake if you have the energy or inclination to explore. Loweswater lies alongside the C2C route a little further along and is more pastoral but equally scenic.

This section has stunning views of Ennerdale Lake and then Loweswater, before skirting Crummock Water. All in all a wonderful part of the C2C route, either on traffic-free paths or the delightful minor country roads.
